Goal

You and your partners will be in charge of researching different ways for people to conserve energy. In the US we use nearly 25% of the world's energy. The goal is to come up with a list of easy to use methods that people can impliment to lessen the amount of energy they use.

Directions

  1. You will be broken into five groups each group will be responsible for a room in a typical household: living spaces, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and outdoor spaces.
  2. Your "room" group will read over the article: How to Conserve Energy at Home. This will act as a starting place.
  3. You may use the internet for more research. Use the following websites for starting places:
    1. http://www.energysavers.gov/
    2. http://www.nrdc.org/air/energy/genergy.asp
  4. You and your partners will go to your "room" page.
  5. You will type in information you think will help people conserve energy for that room. the amount of energy they can save and/or why its a good idea.
    1. For example: Compact Fluorescent Lights use up to 30% less electricity and can last 1,000 times longer than a "regular" light bulb. (aw, pd6)
  6. You must place your initials at the end of the information you find. (see #6 above)
  7. As a group you want to gather as much data/methods that you can.
    1. This can include pictures, links and video.
  8. Save your information often!
    1. This will ensure that it doesn't get lost. The information can be retrieved, but only if it has been saved.
  9. Make your page as visually pleasing and orderly as possible.
    1. Keep similar information together. Also make sure the photos are next to the right information.
